Scalemint was not built in an office. It was built inside our family restaurant in Zurich, over many years of trial, error, and slow wins.
A family dream in Zurich.
In 2008 our family opened a restaurant in Zurich. It was a dream we built together, table by table, guest by guest.
For many years it ran well. Regulars filled the seats. Word of mouth carried us. Life was busy in the best way.


Then everything changed.
Covid hit us hard. And even after it passed, the way people ate out was different. Guests came less often. Habits shifted. The old rhythm was gone.
We could not go back to how things used to be. We had to find a new way forward.
I tried everything.
From 2018 on, I kept working on it. TripAdvisor ads. Facebook. Instagram. Newsletters. Small campaigns. Big campaigns. Every new tool that promised more guests. Some things worked a little. Most did not.
In 2025 I finally understood how it works.
I stopped chasing every trend and focused on two things: reviews and small, smart Google Ads campaigns. I already ran Google Ads for other local clients through my agency, so I applied the same playbook to our own restaurant.
And suddenly it went up. Real up. New reservations kept coming in. New faces. New guests. Every week.
But then a second problem showed up.
New guests are not the same as regulars.
Getting new guests through the door is one thing. Turning them into regulars is another. And most restaurants lose them right here.
After the first visit, 60 to 70 percent of guests never come back. Not because the food was bad. They just forget. There is simply too much choice out there.

Bring a guest back three times, and there is a 70 percent chance they become a regular. Miss the second visit, and they are gone for good. That is where the light touches come in. Small, personal messages that land at exactly the right moment and pull guests back before they forget.

These numbers come straight from our own restaurant. The data are directly from Zenchef. Reviews went up, Google Ads brought new guests, and reservations kept climbing week after week.
